Here are Kula we believe that your morning can have a huge impact on the rest of your day. Ahead of our Ritual workshop on Saturday 17th February, 2-4pm, Namma Zusman gave us her insight into all things routine, ritual and rest.Morning routine

‘How you start your morning certainly sets the tone for the rest of your day. We might often have those days where we didn’t wake up to the alarm, we might have rushed leaving home and even skipped breakfast… how does a morning like this turn out? Does it get better, worse or does it stay the same?

Starting your morning tuning in and taking deep care of yourself is like an insurance policy for your day. The busier your day is the more important it is to take the time in the morning to feed your body, mind, and soul first.

BreakfastIf you often start your day filling up your cup first, you make sure you are in alignment with your values, goals, and intentions. The world will always pull and drag you in different directions – things you have to do, people you have to call, things you have to worry about including social media and constantly checking smartphones. This is how some people become stressed, anxious and depleted. Alignment keeps you grounded, focused, and intentional so you are more likely to make better decisions and stay calm with whatever your day brings up.

There are many options you can explore with your morning routines. You can use affirmations, mantras, essential oils, card decks, yoga, meditation, a walk in the park, read a chapter from your most inspiring book and so much more. The most important thing is that you design a routine that works for you, that brings you joy and sets you up for the rest of the day powerfully, peacefully and keeps you inspired. We don’t always have much time in the morning and this can be a reason why we end up stressed and anxious trying to do too much, therefore set realistic goals for yourself and don’t worry if you cannot achieve your goals every day.
