We are incredibly excited to share with you the return of Isabel Slingerland, for one weekend only!

Isabel SlingerlandIsabel joined the Kula family in 2015, and quickly became one of our most popular teachers. Her teaching focusses on awareness of movement and breath, with an emphasis on healthy body mechanics, alignment and postural strength to create an intense, physical, and internally focussed practice.

After moving to Holland in late 2018, she’s been very much missed here at Kula. We can’t wait for her to join us for two incredible sessions this September.

Workshop  // Unravel // Neck, Shoulders and BackIsabel Slingerland

Friday 13th September, 7:15-9:30pm

| £20

‘Turn your wounds into wisdom.’ – Oprah

Our neck, shoulders and back are often a major source of aches, pain and tension that can be hard to relieve. This workshop that will focus on the tension we hold in these areas. Through mobilising and strengthening the muscles in our neck, shoulders and back, we can alleviate tension and pain.

During this workshop we will explore different breath exercises and yoga poses that focus on relieving tension and building strength. You will also investigate your own habits and movement patterns, firstly through self awareness and attention, and then by working with a partner.

Finally you will practise therapeutic Thai Yoga Massage techniques and hands on adjustments. Taken from the Forrest Yoga practice, these will teach you how to help and support different yoga postures whilst learning how to relax tighter and overactive areas around your neck, shoulders and back.

You can expect to leave this workshop with

  • a deep awareness of your own body and its anatomy,
  • an understanding of injuries,
  • relief from tension, aches and pains.

£10.50 drop in, or use your Anytime Class Pass.

Join Isabel Slingerland for a pop-up yoga class that will connect you to your inner wisdom.

Leading you through an energising vinyasa flow sequence, to remove stagnation and connect you to your intuition, this class will focus on moving energy up through the spine to activate our Ajna Chakra (third eye).

We will start the class with Pranayama (breathing) exercises, before moving through a vinyasa flow sequence that will focus on moving the spine and opening the shoulders, tuning into the areas where we hold tension.

Finishing with a guided ‘wiser self’ meditation, inspired by Ana Forrest, we will work with visualisation techniques for a profound and restorative end to class.
