Why should I come?

Lara & RachelAs the season change it is useful to change our practice needs to help body to transition and adapt. In autumn there is an abundance of Vata energy: “Autumn is predominantly a cool, dry, windy season when Vata dosha dominates, both inside and outside our bodies” (See: ayurveda_for_autumn). Therefore, this is the time more than any other when we should choose grounding, warming and juicy practices.

This workshop provides the “you” time to retreat into a warm safe space and tune inwardly, slowing down from the fast paced vata energy. Moving in a way to get the juices flowing.

Belly work really gets us down into our bodies to ground us. Bellies are where we digest food to nourish ourselves. Bellies are the place where we feel the most vulnerable and therefore tend to hold tension.

During this workshop, you will be guided through individual pranayama and asana to soften and release tension before coming together with a partner to work more deeply into the belly. When we work with partners in this safe way, we have the opportunity to build trust. We are encouraged to let go and soften. We learn to accept and receive. We are able to relax more deeply.

As we are working with the belly (the vulnerable spot) and learning to open up, the effect can be quite profound. (The Power of Vulnerability)

Who is this workshop suitable for?

This Workshop is suitable for anyone regardless of previous experience or physical ability. Unfortunately, as we are working deeply into the belly, it is not suitable for pregnant or post-natal students.

Do I need to bring a partner?

By all means, bring a partner, bring your friends, but you are more than welcome to come by yourself.
