My Classes

Iyengar yoga has been described as meditation in action. Practicing the yoga postures with awareness has an integrating effect and works to harmonise mind and body. Iyengar yoga techniques emphasise precision and alignment. Yoga Postures are held for longer than in some other methods, allowing tight muscles to lengthen and relax, and helping to focus awareness. Yoga props such as blankets, blocks, bricks, bolsters and belts may be used to improve precision, alignment and awareness in performing the yoga postures or to help students with difficulties or limitations to safely progress in the asana.

My Yoga Journey

I discovered yoga 11 years ago and my journey began! From a very stiff student with a chronic back problem to a teacher today with no back problem.

In the words of BKS Iyengar “Yoga is like a light, which once lit will never dim. The more you practice, the brighter the flame” These words I truly identify with.

My Credentials

I have recently completed my introductory level 2 Iyengar teaching certificate and plan to continue to further progress through the teaching syllabus.

My Classes

I have a keen interest in anatomy and a fascination with the innate power of the breath to support movement, unwind tension and aid our physical and emotional wellbeing, which I incorporate into my classes. I aims to make am classes welcoming and accessible for all, with sequences designed to build strength and flexibility and ultimately leave you feeling relaxed and energised.

I teach Ashtanga, Hatha and Restorative Yoga with an emphasis on alignment and mindful, breath-led movement. My classes include a balance of precision and flow and my teaching is inspired by my own experience, practice and yoga heritage.

My Yoga Journey

I have been practicing yoga since 2001. I started attending a weekly Iyengar class after moving to London and was completely hooked from the start. I remember leaving class with a clear head, springy limbs and feeling light as air! In 2003, I tried an Ashtanga class and so began a lifelong love of this practice. In 2009, I became a student of Joey Miles and have maintained a regular practice under his guidance ever since.

In 2010 I travelled to Mysore, India to practice with Sharath Jois, Paramaguru (lineage holder) of Ashtanga Yoga.

My Credentials

In 2017, I completed the TriYoga Teacher Training Programme (350 hr) under the expert tuition of Joey Miles and Anna Ashby (Asana), Carlos Pomeda (Philosophy), Chris Swain and Andrew McGonigle (Anatomy and Physiology). In 2019 I completed Anna Ashby’s Restorative Yoga Teacher Training also at TriYoga London.

My Classes

My classes are dynamic and playful with a strong focus on strengthening and conditioning both body & mind. If you step onto the mat with me, you will get all my passion & encouragement. I will push you to not just work with your physical body but also to stay in constant connection with your heart and soul. There will always be space to bring whatever you are feeling that day. I believe in the positive benefits yoga can bring to your life; benefits that include more energy throughout the day, better sleep and help in finding the tools to deal with whatever life throws at you. My focus on alignment, with hands-on-assists guides my students safely though a session.

I teach Vinyasa Flow & a regular Flow to the Beat workshop, which combines my love for yoga and music.

My Yoga Journey

My personal yoga practice has been my therapy and has helped me through the ups and downs of life. I have been practicing yoga since 2012 and fell in love with it during my first visit to Goa, India in 2014 where I started to develop a regular practice.

My Credentials

I trained in Costa Rica with Yoga Academy International at RYT-200 level. I’ve taught in the UK, Germany and in Goa.
